About Me

I currently call Birmingham, AL, home along with my partner and our two sons. When I'm not working, I can be found writing short stories, hiking, or arguing over pop culture trivia. With little to no provocation, I'm willing to discuss my abilities as a clutch Mario Kart player, the mechanics of crafting a superior onion ring, and how I unapologetically entered my cat lady era this past summer with the arrival of our two rescues.

What I Do

I’ve spent twelve years of my career in the nonprofit world, six of those in higher education. During this time, I’ve honed my skills in editing, writing, and digital media to meet philanthropy, academic, and public relations needs. Some highlights of my work include obtaining coverage from the Associated Press, Huffington Post, USA Today, and the Chronicle of Higher Education and helping to manage a major web redesign for a statewide nonprofit

In the past five years, I have worked to further my education through a M.A. in English (2021) followed by a M.F.A. in Creative Writing. During that time, I have continued to develop my skills by assisting the Department of English at the University of Alabama in Birmingham with their communication efforts and taking on freelance projects.

Prior to my big move to Alabama, I worked as chief storyteller for United Way of Rhode Island. I managed, wrote, and aligned content across all our digital channels, print work, and philanthropy efforts to build a compelling story for existing and new audiences.
